July Update: David Isaac Hoppe-McQueen

On July 6th we had our first ultrasound in thirteen weeks, the baby was 20 weeks and 6 days. Everything measured just perfectly and the baby is right on track for where he should be. He weighs approximately 14 ounces and was extremely active during our appointment. Our technician had a difficult time getting all the measurements because he would not sit still. He looked like he had plenty of room to move around. We saw him moving his arms, legs, head, and hands. He is definitely a boy! His name is David Isaac Hoppe-McQueen and we will call him Isaac. Both my father and Noah's father are named David and Noah's middle name is David. We chose Isaac because Sarah and Abraham had prayed for a child of their own as well.

We had gone five weeks between appointments because we were working at music and theatre camps down in Birmingham but our next appointment is scheduled in four weeks on August 3rd. Things have been going very well. I had a contraction last week but the doctor says that is normal and I will begin feeling more of those. For the past two weeks I have been feeling little flutter kicks. They are getting stronger but I don't feel them very consistently yet. I can feel a lot one day and then hardly any the next. Even today when I saw the baby jumping around so much on the ultrasound screen, I didn't feel anything.

His nursery theme is Noah's Ark and we have already bought the bedding and accessories! We are very excited and can't wait to meet little Isaac in person.
